synopsis
“De Zambombas and Parrandas” is a scenic proposal that was born with the aim of promoting social cohesion, using the performing arts as an inclusive and transformative tool. Creation generates a space that allows us to share experiences through dance, improvisation and composition dynamics, a communal investigation that leads to the creation of different scenes. We build a collective dramaturgy to later share it with the residents of Deltebre and generate a space for social well-being.

Pino Basile, in recent years, has been busy performing, teaching, researching and studying the tradition and folklore: frame drums and friction drums of southern Italy and the entire Mediterranean region. Their mission is to teach people about the peculiarities of these so-called “unsophisticated” instruments, to share their passion and spread their knowledge in as many artistic circles as possible. He is the inventor of the technical and musical evolution of the friction drum by inventing the “Cupaphon”, a set of several friction drums with a specific sound. In recent years there have been numerous experiences of use in contemporary and jazz fields at an international level. It is a constantly evolving creative musical research process that has paved the way for the use of traditional local instruments far beyond the context in folklore.
