The artist seeks to depict not objective reality but rather the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse within her.

It was a movement led work. It was a movement led life. A play on comedy, tragedy and the human experience. The human experience is a joke taken seriously. Or is it the other way around?

‘I started off with pointing fingers but they told us it was rude. So I pointed fingers at myself. Until I realised I had no finger to point. There was no one to blame.’

BIO
Lucija was born and raised in Zagreb (Croatia). She entered the Contemporary Dance School Ana Maletic in Zagreb. After graduating, she went to study at the Dance and Theatre Academy in Amsterdam.

After working with different companies and learning from choreographers and fellow dancers Lucija has started to take more time to investigate her own point of view. Or, herself, to be more specific.

At this point of her journey as a dancer and maker Lucija Romanova has been dedicated in developing her own movement vocabulary, theatricality, comedic timing and joys and tragedies of life.
